The End
An extremely hard fought battle ended in a dissapointing season ending loss. The boys had an incredible week ending with an impressive 5-3 mark and making memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for a great seasoon boys!
Cliffhanger
Going to the fifth and even though we are hitting the ball well we just can't get one across the plate. Trail 5-0 as the boys run in to bat!
Still fighting
Going to the fourth... still hanging tough but needing to score some runs. Down 4-0 now.
Force Win!
Kevin had to sharpen his pencil twice as the Force was on fire in today's tournament game. Final score Force 18, White Marsh (MD)... the name of the game now is survive and advance.
Go Blaze... uhhh, I mean Force
Lynne sports the team colors during our rain delay... the sign helps her remember it's not quite football season yet :-)
Looking Good
Fans look on as the Force explode for a 14-1 lead in the third... congrats to Drew and Austin for launching rockets over the fence. We are still in the third with 1 out in a rain delay.
1st inning
Dabney goes yard to spot the Force a 2-0 lead. Nathan is here warming up the left fielder in between innings.
The Beginning of Baseball
Several of the boys and coaches enjoy the nostalgia of being in the home of baseball at Abner Doubleday field.
Doubleday Field
Enjoying a down moment before the games this afternoon. The boys are soaking up what it might be like to play on Doubleday field.

Tough One
A valiant effort and week of great baseball. Tough one tonight as we close out the week 4-2.
Not giving up
Still a tall hill to climb but the boys aren't giving up yet... going to bottom of 3... let's score some runs!
Tough one going
The Force is battling hard but find themselves trailing 12-3 in the third. Time to mount a comeback.
Game Six
We draw to an end our pool play as the evening settles in over the beautiful countryside in Cooperstown. Force vs. Midland New Jersey coming up next.
Explanation
I am cracking up at all the calls we have received about what happened. Here it is. The runner coming home from third slid in and was technically safe. However, there is a rule in Cooperstown that does not allow head first slides into home. Unfortunately, the kid from the RiverDawgs did slide in head first and was called for the third out ending the game. Awful for the kid and hate that a game played that well ended on such a bizzarre note. But, we will take the win and the 4-1 record.
FORCE WIN
Wow... Paul was definitely still ready as he caught out 2 and gunned the ball home where the third out was recorded at home. Force go 4-1 now and have one game remaining!
5th Inning
Paul stands ready for another fly ball after already having made two nice catches. Going to 6th still up 3-2:

Not just baseball!
A lot of fun going on up here playing baseball but we are taking time to eat some really good food too! John, Austin, Hudson, Drew and several of the rest of us enjoyed a great dinner at New York Pizza just off the square in Cooperstown. GREAT food!
Force win, Move to 3-1
Great game and the Force move to 3-1. Nathan pitched an awesome complete game and the defense backed him up beautifully. Special high five to Hudson for a diving stop and throw from the ground to record the final out of the game.
One more day of pool play to go. Let's go Force!
Small Ball
The Force dug in for a little small ball and manufactured a few runs to take a 6-1 lead going to the fifth. John is seen here readying for his at bat. Keep it up Force!
Game 4
Force are locked up in a battle with the Lemont Indians for Illinois... we are tied 1-1 in the second.

Game Day: Force Take First Two

After much anticipation, the Force got down to business on the field today in Cooperstown. Game one featured a see-saw battle between the boys from Brentwood and their opponent Somers Red Americans from New York. Cody took the hill and did a great job of keeping the American hitters off balance. Austin, Hudson and Dabney all pitched as well, with Dabney picking up the win in relief. Dabney helped himself out at the plate as he calmly stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the sixth in a tie game with the bases loaded. After being given the green light with a 3-0 count, Dabney crushed a towering shot over the center field fence for a dramatic walk-off grand slam game winning home run! What a start!
Game two featured an explosive offensive firestorm from the Force bats as they jumped on the Maryland Predators early eventually building a 14-0 lead. Cody led the fireworks with 2 HR's. Dabney got the start and pitched 4 strong innings keeping the Predator batters frustrated. The Force defense brought their A-game and dazzled throughout the game.
Things did tighten up a bit late as the Preds bats heated up for a six-run fifth. Nathan and Daniel (Dhop) pitched in relief and shut down the comeback sealing the second win of the day 14-6.

Day Two: Skills, Barbecue and a trip to the ER
Day two in Cooperstown was another great day for the Force Nation as the boys enjoyed their final day of preparation prior to beginning tournament play. Opening ceremonies and skills competitions ruled the evening as all of our boys performed well. A special nod to goes to John who, sporting his brand new kicks, blazed his way around the bases in an amazing 13.22 seconds. Unfortunately John missed out on participating in the finals by a heartbreaking .03 seconds.
The day was also filled with a variety of non baseball excitement highlighted by the boys chowing down at the big barbecue lunch, more pin trading and an unexpected trip to the Emergency Room for our very own (and thankfully hard headed) Robert. Fortunately the doc has green lighted Robert to take the field in tomorrow's action despite the bump on his noggin from a baseball bat.
First pitch for game one is set at 11:00 am E.S.T against the Somers Red Storm Americans from New York. Game two features a showdown with the Maryland Predators at 7:00 pm E.S.T.
Check back tomorrow for in-game updates and may THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Cooperstown Day One
A big sigh of relief as we have all nestled into the hills of Cooperstown in upstate New York to begin our week of baseball at the Dream's Park. The boys (and a few brave coaches) have also settled into their bunk houses and spent most of their evening indulging in the time honored tradition of pin trading.
Tomorrow's features include the opening ceremonies and skills competitions. Check back for frequent updates and may the FORCE be with you!
